Hello my loves, I hope that everyone has been keeping safe!
A lot of my travel plans for this year have been put on hold because of the Covid 19 pandemic. As well as that with London now on a second Lockdown, travel abroad is unfortunately becoming even more difficult. I therefore thought it would be fun to share with you one of my favourite holidays of 2019.
Last year for my second holiday I jetted off to Dubai. I had never been before so I was excited to see what Dubai had to offer!
FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai
We opted to stay at the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai, a beautiful 5 star hotel that sits right on Dubai's world famous palm.
From the moment that we arrived at the hotel we were surrounded by pure luxury, from the palm tree lined pool to the gold bathtub! I could tell that I was going to have an amazing stay.
Hotel Features
I really felt that the hotel had something for everyone. Some of my favourites included:
Partying at The Penthouse which had both a day club and a night-club;
Trying out the restaurants which had a range of different cuisines and also ladies night with complimentary drinks;
Lounging by the many pools and jacuzzi areas that had fun and lively music; and
There was also a spa area!
Hotel downsides
Unfortunately for us the hotel's private beach was closed for renovation at the time we were visiting, which was one of the only disappointing things about my stay there. However, I do believe that all renovations have now been completed and the beach is back open!
Overall, I would 100% recommend the FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai!
A day in the desert
Whenever I visit a new place I always try to experience as much of the local culture as possible to get an authentic feel for the area. Therefore, we opted to go on a desert safari with a company called Dream Night Tours. There are many different packages you can choose from. We chose a package that included dune bashing in a 4x4, quad biking, a camel ride and then an evening of entertainment and a traditional 3 course Arabian dinner in the desert, which allowed us to get a taste of Dubai.
The desert safari was one of the highlights of my entire holiday. The performances, that included belly dancing and fire breathing, were breathtakingly beautiful. The dune bashing was a scary experience, but equally as fun and it was really nice to try some local cuisine.
Pool parties and brunches
Prai Dubai
Zero Gravity Beach Club
Dubai has become renowned for its pool party lifestyle so of course we had to attend a few and see what they were all about.
Prai Dubai was one of the pool party brunches that was hosted in our actual hotel. We attended the Secret Ladies Day event which included a choice of starters and mains, as well as unlimited drinks, all of which we really enjoyed. It was beautifully decorated with a wall of roses which was the perfect spot to get a quick picture. The atmosphere around the pool was really fun and differed to the usual FIVE Palm pool vibe, because a DJ was on-site for Prai. It was a bonus that Prai was hosted in our hotel as we could easily pop back up to our hotel room whenever we needed to.
We also attended Zero Gravity Beach Club's ladies day event. Located here was the infamous glass-fronted infinity pool looking out onto the mesmerising beachfront with a view of Ain Dubai, the world's tallest Ferris wheel. We were offered a limited amount of complimentary drinks and a choice of sun loungers on the beach. However, the sun loungers near the pool area were very crowded so it's better to get to the Beach Club early to secure your spot! Also be mindful of taking a dip in the ocean, I did and quickly ran back out once I realised there were jellyfish. Apart from that I really liked Zero Gravity and would definitely attend again.
Dubai Mall
Souk Al Bahar and Burj Khalifa Lake |
The Dubai Fountain |
The Dubai Mall is one of the largest shopping malls in UAE. Inside you can find many different shops, a range of restaurants, a cinema and even an aquarium!
Outside the mall you can view The Burj Khalifa which is the world's tallest skyscraper. This is surrounded by the Burj Khalifa Lake which separates the mall and Souk Al Bahar. This souk is a modern take on a traditional Middle Eastern marketplace.
The Dubai Fountain sits on Burj Khalifa Lake and on a daily basis dazzling water shows are held with a variety of different songs played to accompany the performances. The fountain shows are free of charge and occur at different times throughout the day so are definitely worth the visit!
The Dubai Mall and its surrounding features are definitely the perfect place to visit for all of your shopping and entertainment needs!
Final words
Overall I really enjoyed my time in Dubai.
If you are a person who loves to indulge in the finer things in life and surround yourself with luxury, Dubai is the place to go. I would definitely recommend it!
