My last law exam finished on 14th May so I decided to celebrate by heading down to M.A.C to treat myself to some new make up. I had been contemplating on buying some of the products for a while, but others I just bought after looking around. I've been using these products for a while now so thought I'd share my opinion on them with you. Enjoy!
M.A.C Stripdown Lip Pencil
I had been wanting a natural/nude looking lip colour for a while and after having heard good things about M.A.C's Stripdown Lip Pencil I decided to give it a go myself. I really like the fact that this product is subtle on the lips. It has a warm brown colour with a hint of pink meaning that if I was to wear it everyday it wouldn't look like I have a tonne of make up on which is great! The only downside to this lip pencil is that it has a matte finish, which although is perfect with regards to appearance, can be quite drying on the lips if worn alone.
M.A.C Peaches Powder Blush
The M.A.C Powder Blush in the colour Peaches is hands down my favourite purchase of the day. I wanted a blush that was a little lighter in colour because the blush that I had previously been using was quite dark (more for the night-time) and people often thought that it was contour. However, I was a little apprehensive about trying this colour because of my brown skin tone. I was worried that the blush would look too bright and not match my complexion. After some umming and ahhing I finally decided to give it and go and was delighted to find that it complemented my skin. As the name suggests it is a peachy colour, which warms up the skin nicely and isn't too overpowering. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a brown/warmer complexion.
M.A.C Gold Deposit Mineralize Skinfinish
Whilst browsing in M.A.C I came across their Mineralize Skinfinish. There are five different shades to choose from and I decided to get the shade Gold Deposit. The reason why I bought this was because I had been looking for M.A.C's Lustre Drops in Sun Rush after hearing many youtubers rave about it, but unfortunately M.A.C discontinued it before I got a chance to try it. This product has a nice shimmery gold effect to it which is perfect for highlighting specific parts of the face and body such as underneath the brow bone and the collarbones. I don't like to use too much of this product out of fear of looking too shimmery and over the top but I feel like using a small amount is a nice addition to my face once I have applied the rest of my make up.
M.A.C Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder
The final product that I am going to speak about is M.A.C's Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder. With summer fast approaching and me being a full coverage foundation lover, the thought of looking too shiny sprung to mind. As well as this, I have recently been experiencing some under eye creasing (which I hate!) after applying my concealer so wanted to eradicate this problem. I do have to say, this product is very good at setting your make up and holding it in place ALL DAY! It also got rid of my under eye creasing which is great as I feel like it is really working. However, there are some things that I don't like about this product. My foundation generally looks quite dewy on, which is the look I like, however after using this finishing powder my foundation does tend to look very matte which gives my skin a dry appearance. As well as this, although the powder, once applied is colourless, if I accidentally use too much (as was the case under my eyes the other day) it doesn't seem to be quite transparent after all, but grey and noticeable. Nevertheless, if you like your make up to look very matte then this is the product for you!
This is the end of my first blogpost. I really hope that you enjoyed reading it. Let me know what you think. More blogposts coming soon!
