Hello everyone. So it has been quite sometime since I last posted on my blog. With being in my final year of University, I wanted to ensure that I was fully dedicated to my degree. After endless hours of revising and countless essays, I am proud to say that I have now graduated from King's College London with an Upper Second Class Honours (2.1) in my Law degree. So now I am back and wanted to tell you about an exciting event that I had the pleasure of attending recently.
Emma Guns with Sophie and Hannah Pycroft
I was fortunate enough to be invited to a Birchbox podcast event, hosted at the Birchbox & Oliver Bonas Office space in Central London. The podcast was hosted by Emma Guns and featured The Spectrum Sisters Sophie and Hannah Pycroft, founders and owners of Spectrum Collections. Throughout the podcast The Spectrum Sisters explained what inspired them to come up with their brand, and the trials and tribulations leading to their success.
The collection is made up of different types of make up brushes and what stood out for me was that all of Spectrum's brushes are Vegan Registered and Cruelty Free. I really like these unique qualities to their brushes because it means that they are accessible to more people. We were even given a Vegan based lunch and Vegan treats, which I thought was good because it meant that the brands unique selling point was incorporated into every aspect of the event. The brushes themselves are of a good quality and very soft to touch and The Spectrum Sisters were a pleasure to meet.

All About Birchbox
Birchbox is the UK's number one beauty box subscription service. Each month, those who subscribe can expect to get a pretty little parcel in the post full of 5 beauty goodies! These can range from skincare products to hair and nail gifts, so it is almost like Christmas has come early every single month. The current retail price of a Birchbox is £10 a month, which I think is a pretty good price, especially considering the fact that the price of the products in a Birchbox usually exceed the £10 subscription fee.
Birchbox Beauties
At the Birchbox event, the podcast audience were presented with a generous amount of Birchbox goodies. Keep scrolling for a closer look.
The Gogotint by Benefit RRP £10.50 is a dual-use product that can be used on both the cheeks and lips.
One of my personal favourite goodies was the Nuxe Dry Oil Huile Prodigieuse RRP £17.00. Another multi-function product, this oil has a beautiful gentle scent to it and can be used on the face, body and hair.
From left to right, Scrub Love's Coconut Mango Body Scrub £12.95 and Manefit's Mugwort Astringent + Pore Care Sheet Mask £1.99. I am excited to try both of these products, especially the Body Scrub as it is made from whole mangos and coconuts, something that I find makes the product very unique.
Body, Face and Eye Creams: From left to right - Baïja Paris Crème Moana in Fleur de Tiarè £15.90, Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream RRP £20.00, Elemis Hydra-Boost Day Cream RRP £40.00, Cowshed Cow Pat Moisturising Hand Cream £8.00. I am particularly fond of the packaging of the Baïja Paris Crème Moana Body Cream.
Hair products: From left to right - Percy & Reed Perfectly Perfecting Wonder Balm RRP £18.00, Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo £20.00, Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray RRP $24, Luseta Keratin Conditioner RRP $16.00. I have already used the Bumble and Bumble Shampoo and absolutely love it. It has a beautiful smell that isn't too strong, and it leaves the hair feeling light and bouncy.
Mannakadar HD Perfecting Powder RRP $29.00. This product is supposed to leave your face feeling flawless and matte, therefore I am really excited to try it out over my foundation.
Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant £25.00. This Salicylic acid is gentle enough to be used day and night. I have already started to use it and cannot wait to see the results as I have heard many good things about it.
The Nip + Fab Colour Corrector in Lavender £8.95, is to be used in order to get rid of yellowness under the skin, in order to create a perfect base for an even-toned complexion once foundation is applied.
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara - To Go £11.00. I have used a few of Bobbi Brown's products in the past but have never tried their mascara, so I am excited to try it out, especially because it seems tailored to a more dramatic eye look.
Thank you for reading my first blogpost of 2017! I hope that it was a pleasant read.
