This Valentine's day I jetted off to Iasi, Romania's second largest city. This holiday was set to be exciting, not only because I have never been to Romania before, but also because I have never spent Valentine's Day in another country.
Palatul Culturii

The most beautiful place that I visited whilst in Romania was Palatul Culturii, which translates to the Palace of Culture. Inside the Palace there were four museums that you could pay to view. I decided to visit the Muzeul Etnografic Al Moldovei, which means the Ethnographic Museum of Moldavia. This museum housed different cultural objects including traditional Romanian outfits, agricultural devices and household objects which gave me a really interesting and informative insight into Romania's history.
Overall, I found the Palatul Culturii to be an aesthetically pleasing and educational place to visit that I would definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Romania.
Palas Mall Iasi
Palas Mall Iasi is a shopping centre that sits adjacent to Palatul Culturii. Inside there are many different clothes and make-up shops that are similar to the ones that you can find in London, as well as a supermarket on the ground floor which is very useful if you need to pick up some last minute supplies. During my stay in Romania, I visited Palas Mall quite a few times and was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was a Sephora inside as this is definitely something that London is lacking!
Places to Eat in Iasi
I went to a few different restaurants during my holiday in Iasi, Romania. A few are listed below:

| Vivo Fusion Food Bar |

| Hot Chocolate from Mignon Bistro Café |
Bistro Piata Unirii was the most unique restaurant that I visited in Iasi as it had real birds inside that were flying around as we dined. The food was very varied, ranging from Japanese, Mexican, American, Italian, Lebanese and of course Romanian.
Vivo Fusion Food Bar served delicious American style burgers as well as other USA themed food.
Mignon Bistro Café was a beautifully decorated café serving Romanian treats and desserts.
Nightlife in Iasi
I decided to not let the snow stop me from making the most of my time in Romania, so I decided to visit a Romanian club. The club called Friend's had a really good atmosphere and played a mixture of music you would expect to find in a London club, as well as some Romanian tracks. I had a really fun experience clubbing in Romania.
Overall, I had a really good Valentine's Day and holiday in Iasi, Romania. Although it may not be the most obvious holiday destination, it is definitely somewhere I would recommend to anyone looking for a short city break. There are loads of different things to do in Iasi, making it an ideal location for anyone looking to explore somewhere new.
